Awards: Social Worker of the Year for Central Texas 2023

Get to know me

My name is Lidia Belle, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Texas, serving the military community at Fort Cavazos and beyond.

I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Simmons University in Boston, and as a military spouse and naturalized citizen born in Praia, Cape Verde, I carry a deeply personal understanding of trauma — not just as an individual experience, but as something that touches whole families and entire communities.

My own healing journey has been a beautiful, sometimes painful process. It’s given me firsthand insight into the uncomfortable (but freeing) steps of true growth. I know what it feels like to face old wounds and create new beginnings, and I carry that empathy into every session.

I specialize in evidence-based, trauma-focused interventions with individuals, families, and children. I’m certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and PC-Care (Parent-Child Care), and trained in CFTSI (Child and Family Trauma Symptom Intervention), Sand Tray Therapy, PSB-PBT (Problematic Sexual Behavior – Phase-Based Treatment), and informed in IFS (Internal Family Systems).

I believe true healing happens in partnership. Therapy is not just about the individual — it’s a shared journey involving you, your support system, and me, working together to create a safe, peaceful environment. I deeply value each person’s unique story and cultural background, and I tailor my approach to honor and empower those differences.

Outside of my work, I love spending time by the beach — the shore reminds me of home and the power of renewal. I also have a passion for learning (and I can never resist a good sale!).

Above all, I believe that learned behaviors can be unlearned, and that no matter the trauma, new beginnings are always possible.
